A crooked trace of a meteor Has this meteor left a crooked trace? Probably, it has. Obviously crooked meteor traces appear rarely, and it works well to take pictures of them even rarer, but they were noticeable earlier as well. He cause for appearing of meteors unusual traces lies in the fact that many meteors have non-spherical shape and heterogeneous composition. Usually meteors are particles of a size of a sand grain, which originate in comets and get destroyed after entering the earth atmosphere. Heterogeneous meteors may evaporate from one side greater, than from the other one. As a result a meteor will rotate and slightly vibrate in relation to the direct trajectory, and to discharge the evaporating substance spirally. The fast moving substance, discharged from the meteor, ionizes molecules in the Earth atmosphere, and the molecules then highlight, recombinating with electrons. Of course, none of the meteors is n ideally homogenous sphere, and it is probably by that reason slight vibration is always present, which is impossible to reveal. Possibly, meteors brought to the Earth organic substances and pre-biological molecules, due to which the development of life became possible. |
